Reconnection Rescue

I help women heal their relationships with their moms and themselves.

Coaching for when your self care routine is non-existent and not enough.

Ever been so anxious, frustrated, and exhausted that you just want to scream? Or stuck in impossible situations at work or at home where you feel dismissed and disrespected? Only to be told that you need to set boundaries and speak up, as if it was that simple.

You know it must be possible to have a life with joy and lightness. A life where you are heard, respected, and valued. And it is. There’s just one missing piece to the puzzle…

The Mother-Daughter Relationship

No matter how complicated, our relationship with our mom is where we first learn what it means to be a woman in this world.

This affects how we determine our value, what kind of conversations are acceptable, and how we get our needs met (or not met at all).

Understanding the legacy we’ve been given helps us better own the power and opportunities we have as women today.

Chances are that mama really did her best. But we live in a society that even now defines femininity in terms of who we are as daughters, wives, mothers, and caretakers. Basically, who we are in service to everyone else but ourselves.

We are not taught how to value what we feel, want, or need, so we don’t have the words to get our needs met without being labeled as “bitchy” or “selfish”. In this way, we learn to squash down our thoughts and needs until we become used to silencing ourselves. Eventually reaching the point of not even knowing who we are anymore outside of what someone else needs from us.

But our needs as women don’t just go away, setting the stage for so much of the conflict between mothers and daughters. Understanding how these forces impact us is the missing piece to being able to use our voice and own our power today.

With several years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I specialize in women’s relationships with their mothers and how that affects their adult lives.

I started this work when in my work as a mental health therapist, I kept seeing a pattern where women who came in with anxiety often struggled with their relationship with their moms.

What people are saying

“With Brittney’s help, my daughter and I were able to bridge the distance between us. Brittney helped us understand the intergenerational trauma that has haunted our family and provided us with the tools we need to break that cycle. Brittney has continued to work with me. She has helped me find confidence to explore my creative side and grow as a writer. With her help, I have gained self-esteem and learned to love and care for myself.”

“I was researching books on working on a relationship with my daughter because we were not getting along and had actually stopped talking to each other. I came across Brittney and never knew that Mother/Daughter therapy was specialized within the therapy community. We have learned to be patient with each other and not to take things personally. Now I have a wonderful relationship with my daughter and I think I am a better listener.

You are so valuable.

Your thoughts, feelings, needs and desires are valid. They matter.

And you deserve to be heard and respected as much as anyone else around you.

But if life has you feeling exhausted, anxious, and ignored, you’re in the right place.
